Criminology student awarded bursary
Former Guernsey Grammar School student Isabel Ives has been awarded PraxisIFM's 2018 Graduate Bursary.
The Group's bursary students are guaranteed employment within each of the Guernsey office's Trust Fund and Pensions divisions gaining exposure to a wide range of tasks.
Group Head of Human Resources Sharon Coburn said that this year's initiative had attracted a large increase in the number of applications the standard of which was very high. 'Isabel has not only achieved excellent academic results but also was able to demonstrate how her extra curriculum activities have enabled her to develop fully rounded skills' said Mrs Coburn.
'Her drive and commitment to her studies were evident throughout the interview process.'
It will be the first experience of working in an office for Isabel who said: 'I really value this opportunity and am eager to meet the team and experience building relationships with colleagues. Through gaining such experience it will help me explore the finance industry as a possible career path. Alongside this I will be able to develop my communications skills and accuracy.
'I am extremely grateful to have been offered the PraxisIFM bursary.'
Isabel left Guernsey for Sussex University to study criminology in mid-September and will start her first of three periods of paid work at PraxisIFM in the summer of 2019.
