Christa joined Praxis in 2023 and is the Group's General Counsel and Head of Legal Resources.
History
Previously, Christa was a Senior Associate at a global law firm working on a variety of contentious regulatory and trust matters. Before moving to Guernsey, she worked at a large firm in London and the south west, dealing with a range of regulatory, environmental and cross border commercial disputes. She also spent some time on secondment to a major public sector client, advising its in-house legal team on contentious and non-contentious commercial, regulatory, property and employment matters.
Christa grew up in Austria and completed her first year of study there before moving to the UK in 2011, where she completed her LLB (Hons) Law and LLM LPC Legal Practice in England before qualifying as a solicitor.
Roles and responsibilities
Reporting directly to the CEO, Christa leads the Group's cross-jurisdictional legal resources team advising the business on a wide range of legal matters including company and trust law, regulatory compliance, and international developments.
With a diverse background and experience of a variety of both non-contentious and contentious legal matters means, Christa is the principal lead on Group legal matters and adviser to the Executive Committee. She works closely with the senior leadership team across the Group, trust administration teams and Group entities on all aspects of internal projects and client transactions in the private wealth sector.

"I support several charitable organisations, including the Guernsey Sailing Trust (as a member of its management committee) and platforms such as Aspiring Solicitors (as a professional ambassador), an organisation aiming to increase diversity, equality and inclusion in the legal profession. I enjoy many sports, including touch rugby, where I represented Guernsey at the World Cup and European Championships. Before moving to Guernsey, I sailed for the Austrian National Sailing team, competing internationally."
