Educated in Jersey, Richard studied mechanical engineering in the UK before returning to the island to move into a career in financial services.
History
Prior to joining Praxis, Richard trained as an accountant with Mazars, and went on from this to a venture capital group where he became finance director. Prior to his career in finance, Richard was a lecturer and researcher at Newcastle University, teaching mechanical engineering and biomechanics.
He joined Praxis in 2016 and has been involved in developing the Group's financial reporting following its listing on The International Stock Exchange in 2017. He was promoted to Group Chief Financial Officer in 2020 and is responsible for financial reporting, forecasting and control, and using this to guide operational and strategic decisions.
Roles and responsibilities
Richard's role covers direct responsibility for all aspects of the Group’s finance function, including reporting, forecasting and control. Being a member of the Executive Committee enables him to use this information to guide operational and strategic decision-making.
Richard's areas of focus for the finance function are transforming it into a group-wide function that delivers a high quality service, along with improving the quality and availability of our financial data.
Richard was a member of the Group Board between February 2022 and 4 September 2024.
